Did you know one of the main reasons people click on a video is because there is an interesting looking thumbnail? Learn how to create custom thumbnails without being an artist.
The 3 options YouTube provides typically isn’t the best, however, you don’t have to be a Photoshop master either. Using TubeBuddy makes creating custom thumbnails very easy. By clicking on “custom thumbnail” you can then with the free account select a frame from the video or use a solid color. We typically choose a frame from the video. Then you want to choose the best frame of the video.
A lot of times the title slide will work, however, if you don’t have a title slide, use the TubeBuddy tool to create a title on the thumbnail. It’s that simple and makes your videos a lot more attractive and clickable. Once again custom thumbnails are Step 4 for the 9 Steps to YouTube Optimization.
