Video optimization is important; doing it correctly will ensure your video gets found and enjoyed by users searching for content they you’re offering.

End screens are a good start in optimizing videos

Having end screens creates a connected and optimized online presence. So what exactly are end screens? End screens appear in the last twenty seconds of a video on YouTube.  You want to utilize end screens to add a link to a video or playlist, or wherever else you want to send the viewer after they’ve viewed your video. Remember, your video has to be at least 25 seconds long to have an end screen.

What kinds of links are good to add? First and foremost, always add a link to subscribe to your YouTube channel so they are alerted whenever you post new videos. You can also send the viewer to your website, your social channels or other web pages. Here are a few ideas:

  • Call for subscriptions to your channel
  • Promote your website,
  • Tout merchandise
  • Announce crowdfunding campaigns

You can add up to four elements to promote your content, channel, and websites. Elements can expand to show more information on hover on desktop and on tap on mobile devices.
